So my fiancé got this phone call and I answer his phone they ask if I'm Mrs.**** and I say may I ask who is calling they go on about tax fraud and ask if I have a lawyer and so on this is officer Anderson. I say that I'm not Mrs. **** and that they can talk to Mr**** and officer Anderson tries to tell me that I am going to jail because I lied to the irs when they asked if I was Mrs**** . I then informed him that I never confirmed or denied that I was mrs**** so nice try buddy. Then he hung up on me. So Mr**** calls back and a female officer answers officer Johnson same broken English as officer Anderson. So she goes on to tell him about his fraud and he lets her know that he knows it's a scam and she hangs up. So he calls back and officer Johnson answers and asks for his name and he gives it to her she then sighs and says what am I suppose to do with you mr**** and he says what do you want to do with me? Want to get naked ? Can I push the button on your head to start the coffee pot? And we are both rolling at this point officer Johnson is getting so frustrated that any kind of English is not recognizable and then she calls him a mother f***** and hangs up. They won't answer the phone now so we will have to try back again later ... Oh well if they are going to harass poor inocent people and try to scam money off of them then they should be harassed too :)
Phone Scams: Aggressive and threatening phone calls by criminals impersonating IRS agents remains an ongoing threat to taxpayers. The IRS has seen a surge of these phone scams in recent months as scam artists threaten police arrest, deportation, license revocation and other things. The IRS reminds taxpayers to guard against all sorts of con games that arise during any filing season. (IR-2015-5)
What is so frustrating is that there are still so many people who don't bother to do any investigating, watch the news, listen to the radio and continue to fall for these scams. Keep reporting and let everyone you know by internet, word of mouth etc. Do not, repeat, do not, trust anything you hear!
Indian accent poor English. Left voice mail saying I will be arrested if I don't call back. Pretty sure the IRS doesn't leave voice mail if they have a reason to arrest you.
Scammers!!!
