I agree I had a serious incident and my bank account was past due with wells fargo but i forgot about it the amount was listed on my credit though. Did they give you a settlement lower then 50% they only took off the fees and 25%?
Got a call from the mediation company today received a letter two weeks ago after it bounced around from my mom's address now to mine. Company name is goldman & assoicates they letter seems legit but if I pay on this account will it be removed from my credit report ?
I received a call from this Goldman and Associates stating that I owed from a payday loan in 2012, thought they were a scam and contacted my attorney, he looked into the company and came to be they were the real deal, the account was already on my credit that's why I was a little confused. But after I paid the account off in full, they sent me a paid in full letter and also checked my credit some time after and account was marked as paid. I'm really happy I did business with them.
Fact 1) Debt collectors have a history of harassing innocent people by calling outdated numbers.
Fact 2) Debt collectors have a history of refusing to accept the fact that they reached the wrong number.
Fact 3) I know these are facts because it has happened to me.
