I got a call from someone named VJ from this line. He would not identify who he was with but wanted me to indentify my address and part of my social. I told him he would have to identify who he is and what company he respresented. He would not. I hung up.
They call incessently and fail to leave messages. They represent an American Express debt and are violating the Fair Debt Collection practices Act. My attorney sent them a "cease and desist" letter, but they don't think the law applies to them. I suggest that if you think they are violating the law, (i.e. calling repeatedly with the intent to harass, giving information to third parties, etc.) you should call your attorney. If anyone wants to begin a class action suit, my attorney is Brandie Payne of The Payne Law Firm in Texas at www.texaslawyer.org. She is handling my case and will talk to your lawyer, too, I am sure.
