Received similar call telling me refusal to contact them would result in a court filing and posting in the paper. And that refusal denies me legal counsel. They never said what company they were calling from or what the debt was about nor did they call my name.
called and said that the court will be involved with a debt I owe but didn't leave a company name or reference number or anything. why do scammers think it is okay to do this to hard working people
These "people" used to call from NE now from GA stating for the past month they are coming to get me.....whatever....and that I should call them ASAP and if I don't then "good luck to me". Get a real job!
This is a company that purchases old expired debts then tries to use scare tactics to collect the otherwise now invalid debt. They cannot take you to court, they cannot take any legal action at all and if you can get the actual name of the company you can file a harassment lawsuit against the company.
So basically just have fun with them. I love putting them on the computer fax program and just let it call them back repeatedly all day long while I am at work. From what I make of it there are about 6 - 10 people working in the office so real easy to tie up their phone lines if just a few people do this.
