Bogus IRS call, they leave a message to call back. The IRS does not reach out by phone like this with threats of a lawsuit and the IRS website has warnings about this phone scam.
Just received a phone call from an "Indian" speaking person telling me that I had mistakes on my 2009-2011 tax returns. A sheriff from the IRS was going to be at my home in the matter of 15 minutes if I did not make arrangements to pay back taxes from 2009-2011. Upon questioning him and telling him that I did not believe that the IRS would have an Indian speaking person representing the USA, who yelled at me when I asked questions, I told him that my number was on the DO NOT CALL LIST and not to call me again. After I hung up, I googled the phone number that appeared on my caller ID and there were numerous comments stating that this phone was bogus and a scam. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called from this number 21 August 2015. They are careful to identify themselves as Internal Revenue Services (plural). Thus, they are not liable for misrepresenting themselves as the IRS. They warn that this ".... is a final notice." They declare that "the IRS has filed a lawsuit....." against their intended victim, me.
