The National Do Not Call Register is used by (some) legitimate businesses who wish to obey the law. It is NOT used by scammers and thieves, like the people who called you. They're already doing something illegal - why would they care if you're on a list or not? I suffered with these clowns and others like them for years, and then did the only effective thing possible - I got a phone with the capability to block 300 numbers. When one of these scammers calls, I immediately block their number. If they ever call again, the call does not get through.
Just got a call from a man who could barely speak English who said his name was "Kevin Smith" (yeah, right!) calling from the Windows Certified Technical Department, and the call was about my computer. I didn't say a word. I just played my recording of hold music from a student loan scam caller from earlier in the day. All "Kevin" heard was fast classical piano music playing with a voice repeating, "Please stay on the line. Your call will be transferred to the next available operator" a few times before he finally hung up. The FAKE "Windows CertifiedTechnical Department" also calls from 1-888-288-3041. I had a different kind of fun with the woman at that number!
Same here. Call from "Fargo ND" from this number. Have received several over the last 2 weeks. I didn't give them a chance to talk. I just started by asking if they had made Jesus Christ their Savior and Lord and then kept on talking about Jesus until they hung up.
Received a call from 701-282-3917 on our business line at 2:25pm on 7/21/16. Caller ID reads "Fargo, ND". Answered and heard a few seconds of silence, then the call connected to what was obviously a call center (tons of background noise) and a man with a heavy accent said "Sir, Sir.. is this a business line?". I slammed the phone down as hard as I could. Don't call my business and ask if its a business line.. we obviously are not interested in doing business with a scum scam company. Number added to my "I'll never answer a call from that number again" list. Scammers be scamming.
