Just got a call from this number at 10:45 pm. Caller ID listed as Andorff N&M. Caller had Indian accent saying that there was a problem with my windows operating system and that I was being hacked. She seriously asked me to turn my computer on so she could show me the error report and then she would direct to website to remove errors. I started laughing and asked her if anyone else was stupid enough to fall for this. At this point She kept insisting that if I was not the owner of the computer, that I needed to put them on the line. So sad that there are probably people out there that fall for this. Reporting this to FTC. Probably won't do any good but at least I have tried.
This Indian sounding caller claims to work for Microsoft. He calls several times in a day. If you hang up on him, he calls right back trying to make you nervous by saying your computer is compromised. Wants you to turn it on and follow his instructions. He's a scammer, no doubt. Very persistent and very annoying. One morning he called at 6:45AM!
Female caller with heavy Indian accent presented herself as outsourced technical support for Microsoft. Call made from 'Andorff N&M' telephone number 701-694-4962. Caller claimed that my personal computer was infected and beaconing messages via Internet because of malware files had been installed on the computer. I followed to the point where caller attempted to have me give control of personal computer to remote support via 'secure.logmeinrescue.com'. Broke-off call and reported incident and details to 'RescueMe.com,' which is a legitimate techsupport business. This is a scam that attempts to access your personal files. DO NOT GIVE REMOTE CONTROL OF YOUR COMPUTER TO AN UNKNOWN PARTY OR AGENCY.
