An unwanted call from this Virgina VOIP number arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, the caller hung up. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) hate reaching answering devices while they are trolling the phones, desperately seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.
Many posters report the caller is Medicare Seniors, possibly one of many Medicare crooks who collectively steal $60 billion per year from taxpayers by scamming the system. Telecriminals like this are the reason you should LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.
Answered and he said he was calling from a medicare provider, asking about my back problems. Gave me an old zip code of when I was in the military, thus I would not have consulted a civilian dr for anything. Scammers. Blocked.
obvious spam. when you pick up and don't speak there is complete silence, and if you do answer it is a medicare/caid scam. I said i was not eligible and they hung up. they continue to call using different versions of their number.....area code and first three digits are the same.....so annoying!
I heard about stories about things like this, you call them back, and they manage to bill your phone bill. basically it's a scam. don't give them the time or day. most likely it's a foreign call, disguised as a phone number here in the u.s.a.
