They have called a couple of times over the last few days. I answered last night and talked to them, was told there was civil litigation pending against me and that I needed to call another number with my case number to get it taken care of. Caller told me that failure to call by the closing time of that office for the day (within two hours) would force them to personally serve me notice of the suit. Clearly a scam wanting me to give them my payment info and "settle" over the phone. Total garbage!
I received a call from this same number addressing me by my maiden name, a named I haven't used in years stating that I need to call 18888639125 with my case number within 1 hour because someone has filed legal action against me. I asked the caller for the name of his company & location. He didn't give it but did give me name of the company I needed to contact which is the United Process Service. I think Thayer are trying to link this scam with business to look legitimate, but I'm going to report them! I know my credit history inside out so I knew this was a scam.
Yes, they referred to a supposed las firm. That number knew my name, date of birth and last 4 of my ssn. They tried to get $300 for an old telephone bill or be sued. The tried to get me to say my whole ssn.
Got a call from this same number saying i owe a phone bill for $900 I ask what company was it with they said we handle big companies like Verizon AT&T and then some other one. I said I have never had a phone through any of those companies and he insisted I pay $900 over the phone or I would be served papers and taken to court and have to pay double the money. What a joke why am I don't pay a company I never had anything with idiots.
