Also have this number on my bill and called it and it says it is no longer in service. I am wondering if it is one of the messages that I keep receiving for sweepstakes. Anybody have a clue??
I do live in Charleston and the rep I talked to is also in Charleston and said she had similar issues. Maybe that is why she was able to identify it so quickly. While I am not so sure the type of cell phone is the issue, I think more the programming is. From what I got, our phone are still programmed to send text messages OUT to a Suncom number (the 704 one). It in some way is showing as a roaming text while the real text is also hitting our accounts. She said it was part of the transfer process and was kind to adjust my bill. I know SCgirl on here is also from my state. As far as why more people aren't on here I can't answer. All I know is I was so frustrated by the process that I googled the 704 number to find this site and the other one. I have a feeling that after being put down by the customer service reps so many times a lot of people gave in. I refused to because I didn't think it was fair. A lot of my friends who had other issues with T-Mobile just chose to go to other carriers, which we all can do without penalty before 10/20. Once this bill gets resolved, I will be going somewhere else myself.
Shawn, I also do not want to suggest you should back down if they give you the same answer the last 5 reps gave me. I will have your back and if necessary take it to the top. I do not agree with how any of us have been handled. I still do not know what kind of credit I will be given. All I know is I have someone who agrees there was a problem and agreed to fix it. I was able to give her exact examples from today where a friend texted me, I made four outgoing texts during the exchange. Those four were on my statement, two hours later 4 more came in to the 704 number. I explained to them that I could offer my phone as proof the latter four were not made from my phone as the reps had explained. Like a lot of us, we are told they were made, made by someone we gave our phone to and the like. As soon as I brought that issue up, she identified the problem.
I know Sonya may be hard to find but she is out of Charleston, I spoke with her supervisor to thank her after the conversation so you should be able to ask for a rep out of Charleston if that is an issue.
As I have said before, the money was not a huge issue, but it was the principal of the matter. I have never been treated so badly by so many reps. I would not and will not cave into what I know is wrong. Maybe that is why Shawn you and I are so outspoken. And I really do appreciate feeling validated in my complaint by you and the few others. Thanks for your support. Your explanation Shawn of what you were seeing in our bills is what got me to where I am.
