Been my experience that it doesn't work unless you call the Do Not Call number every 6 months or so. Got this call tonight on my cell phone which is also registered and I just ignored it.
Caller ID Charlotte NC. No message. Most likely the spoofed "Duke Energy" caller about anti abortion propaganda. I called Duke Energy. The customer service person confirmed that their name is being used illegally to "ID" these creeps so we will answer. Evidently it is very easy for criminals to fake an identifying name. This number is set up to only call out, not receive calls, which is why when called back, gets no such number, etc messages. Blocked them.
I answered the phone because it said Duke Energy. They asked for me by name...and then hung up. I didn't understand so I tried to call them back - the recording said "this number is not in service"! If we have people representing Duke Energy who are not from them - STOP CALLING! The woman never did tell me why she called!
Call came in 8:07PM on Friday, ID says Duke Energy. I decided to answer and immediately a man's (very upbeat) voice said "thank you for calling, all our agents are busy right now but someone will be with you shortly". The second he finished speaking I was hanging up and could hear a female voice saying hello as I did so. Figured that when someone calls me and then thanks ME for calling them, it's nothing I need to be involved with. Glad I didn't hang on and speak with her after reading other posts. I cannot say I am for or against anything that could have so many different circumstances attached to it.
some woman asked for head of household. i asked who was calling. she again asked for head of household. i asked again who was calling. she then asked are you pro-life. i hung up then.
