Just called my cell, I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, said its from Charlotte, NC. I googled the number and it came up as a fax number associated with CPI Security. I don't even live in NC, also I have been receiving a ton of robo calls from various numbers in the past couple of weeks.
CPI Security left a recorded message on my voice mail. The message offered me a home security system. "Press 1 to ..." They don't respect the govt Do Not Call List.
My phone id says CPI Security. No one left a message. I don't know the person or company calling & I wasn't waiting on them to call me. So I'm blocking them. The best thing everyone can do is buy a call blocker. Don't buy an expensive one because they don't work any better and some are hard to figure out. But on the other hand, don't buy a dirt cheap. Around $40.00 to $50.00 is about all a person needs to spend. If you check around the Internet as I did, you can find what will suit you best. If everyone had call blockers for their home phones and took a call blocking service for their cell phones, the crooks & scammers wouldn't be able to make money with phones. I agree with someone who wrote that the phone companies should be trying to figure this phone scamming out as it's their business they are messing with by calling & trying to scam their customers.
