I've been a CoreStates/First Union/Wachovia/Wells Farg customer for over 25 years. I used to get calls from this number whenever I was driving very long distances on vacation or making large purchases in rapid succession around Christmastime. They have unlocked my card for me in the past once I confirmed purchases.
For the people reporting they don't have a card with them, I strongly suggest that you check for identity theft. Someone may have opened a card in your name. Just because you didn't open a card doesn't mean it's impossible there's a card out there based on your name and identity. Take this seriously.
I only chose "Event Reminder" below because the "Event" was suspicious activity on my card.
This # picks up and it says it is Wachovia directory assistance. kept wanting me to enter my account #. Finally talked to a representative. she looked the # up in their directory. couldn't find it. Says to report it to [email protected]
It actually is a Wachovia number. They left a message for me to call them back at 866-202-2022, which sounded sketchy, but Wachovia's website lists that number for Credit Card Loss Management. They wanted to verify that I was still in possession of my card because I had made a large purchase earlier that day.
have received a couple of calls from this # and when you call it back it says its not a working # you cant call them but they can call you on this kind of a number they never say what the call is about.
