Asked for husband by first name as if he knew him, but then said he would talk to the lady of the house and gave a speel about raising money for the Troopers Association of NC. We asked him if it was the same as the Highway Patrol of NC and he didnt answer clearly...just kept on with asking for pledge. Of course, he will want your address and other information in order to "send you something special". When asked for number to call him back at, he gave a different number than what he called from; 800-446-7334.
NC Troopers Association. Asked for me by name. Started immediately into his started his sales pitch. I had to ask him to stop 3 times before he actually did. Told him I wasn't interested and to remove my number. He said he would and then started again so I hung up on him.
I wouldn't have picked it up but it was a local number.
Since August 2nd through Aug 20th I have received no less than 7 calls to our fax line from that number. It is very annoying. Sure wish there was a way to block the call, but when you call back to tell them to stop - you have to leave a message for someone to call you back. DUH!
