I received another robocall from some miscreant threatening to take me to the "Federal Claims Courthouse" if I don't call them back. This idiot caller thinks he can scare me. As always, whenever they leave evidence on my voicemail, I always make an effort to eliminate calls like this. I saved this "message" and will do whatever it takes to make the authorities and the public aware of this scam. Life is complicated enough without having to deal with creeps like this. Furthermore, I Googled "US Federal Claims Courthouse" and FYI here is what was posted:
"I received a call from your court saying that I owe money. Is this call legitimate?"
"No. The U.S. Court of Federal Claims DOES NOT call, email, or send letters requesting money or personal identifying information."
This is obviously a SCAM. If they call you, just hang up. The Caller ID identity shows the call coming from Columbus, Georgia.
Same BS as reported by everyone here, a robocall from the "IRS" claiming to be calling about a "case of tax fraud against [me]." These calls don't faze me at all, but it really pisses me off that they prey on people's fear of running afoul of the IRS. A woman at work was almost in tears after receiving one of these calls, but I was able to talk her down from the ledge before she sent any $ or gift cards by showing her the warnings on the IRS website and the FTC articles (along with the posts on this website, of course).
