I missed a call also from this # and I got the msg to add your number to the "do not call list" enter your number...I hung up but most likely it is a scammer or one of those things that record your number so they can keep calling you.
This number called me on my cell.. I did not answer. I don't believe this is a true mortgage business as it seems no one talked with a live person. It seems like a cover-up for taking money for answering the calls or a testing group conductiong test on the public.
Called the number using a Relay service and not my own number - it was a messaging saying DNC if you would like your number removed - to please enter your phone number.
First call from this number, and I missed it. I have unlimited minutes, so I don't sweat it, but I'll do what I generally do... play along as if I'd put out the request to be contacted, and ask, "Now have I already filled out the application with you guys? I've done 3 or 4, so forgive me if I forgot..." When they push for the info over the phone I let them know I can do it online or by mail, but over the phone is just not safe. Since they think I'm actually in the market, they usually cough up the company name easily enough.
I commonly get calls about mortgages, and one of the funniest things I tell them is that we just paid the last payment. They start to offer new loans, and I let them know that the guy who owned the house died, I was sleeping with his wife and we used the insurance money to pay off the note. They are usually so stunned that they start trying to get off the phone before I can finish with the, "But can you call me back in a couple weeks? The District Attorney is getting a little nosey about the accident that killed the guy, and I may need a loan for a good attorney." I've yet to be called by the same company twice.
