i just got a call. called back heard dnc and do not call list. looked up dnc, looked up area code, looked up phone number, got to this list ... didn't enter my number, seems odd that they go by DNC.. and no other info. If the list title is named "do not call" then to us as receivers of a call we might think they mean to take our number off the list when in fact it means "put us on" the list called "do not call" which is just a title ... perhaps i am reading into too much
Got a call from this number today on my cell at 5:19pm pacific. Registered as an unknown caller so I did not answer and no message left on my voicemail.
Received this call at 3:41PM (Pacific Time) on 3/6 on my business line. I was not in the office and no message was left. A reverse lookup on this phone number revealed nothing. It is either a newly established line or a private listing. The 712 area code is indeed Iowa. However, the 429 exchange cannot be verified. I did not call back this number because I do not want them to know that I exist. If you call them back, they'll have your phone number and they know that you exist. And possibly they will be calling you back again.
Hmm.. these guys aren't hip to telemarketing regulations. If you look at the FCC site at http://ftp.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/truthaboutcellphones.html , it clearly states: "it is unlawful for any person to make any call (other than a call made for emergency purposes or made with express prior consent) using any automatic telephone dialing system or any artificial or prerecorded voice to any telephone number assigned to a paging service, mobile telephone service, or any service for which the called party is charged for the call. This prohibition applies regardless of whether the number is listed on the Federal Government's National Do-Not-Call Registry."
