"Pacific Energy" calling to try to sell you home improvements and tossing out scare tactics like black mold. Sales woman pretended to have no idea what the Do Not Call list was and kept repeating my phone number incorrectly and asking if it was right (I hadn't given her my number) when I told her it was illegal to call me.
Said his name was Mike; He had my first name, said he talked to me a few months ago about painting my house; When I said no that couldn't be since I got my house painted a year ago, he just hung up.
I've got a few of these calls since singing up for a "free" quote for new windows via Home Depot.
Calls and leaves no message. I am on "do not call list" which is useless.
My feeling is the only way to stop all these unwanted calls is to go after the phone company with laws that prohibits companies from constantly changing phone numbers.
In the meantime answer the phone and let them set up an appt. with the salesperson. You don't have to be home when they come. Leave a note on the door and write you changed your mind. If enough people would do this, it may stop at least part of these companies from robot calling.
