Called and asked for me by name. He said, "This is Jerry" in a rather jaunty manner like he was an old friend and I should recognize him. When I didn't respond, he added, "From Pacific" like that would surely make me remember him. He then asked in a casual manner, "Did you ever get your painting done?" He made it seem like we'd just talked. My response was that I'd previously asked to be removed from his calling list and would appreciate it if he would not call again. He just groaned, "Oh" and I hung up.
When I get robo calls I just keep pressing the pound number sign over and over again many times because this sends a tone back which sometime hurts the systems.
Martin, what makes you think it shouldn't be difficult to stop the harassment? I've had about 10 calls from this creep. I called my phone provider. They're no help. I put in a complaint with the police. I've listed the creep on DO NOT CALL list and with FTC. It seems one has to change their phone number to get rid of him.
