I was getting called by this number everyday and finally picked up the call and talked to the caller. This is a construction company, that specializes in remodels, that is based in Anaheim, CA. They called and when I picked-up the phone they start off by say "Remember me from when we talked in September? You where so nice to me and I have an offer for you". I told them I was a renter and to take me off their list. They use to call multiple times a day everyday, I have yet to receive another call yet (fingers crossed). My advice pick-up the phone and tell them you rent. If you are a renter you are not authorized to make improvements, if they can't make money they should stop calling.
I picked up because "caller ID" said City of Orange; it then appeared a computer routed the caller to me, since there was a short delay. The caller asked for me by first name. I said "this is she." I have an usual name, and the caller said "Oh, that's an unusual name, where are you from?" I said "Who is this please?" Answer, loud and pointed: "Oh my God, you are so cold; I was just trying to be friendly." Click. The caller was obviously elderly (her voice was quaking), and female. I do not know how they were able to obtain "City of Orange" as a phone ID, but my guess is she was not from the City of Orange, and this is a telemarketing call or scam. She apparently knew I was too inquisitive for her to dupe.
Called and said he was calling on behalf of his Father, a licensed contractor, and did we need painting or structural repairs since they were in the area.
He had my first and last name. I'm unlisted.
This number had called 2x before with no one in the line when answered.
