No matter what they call themselves, they are just simply a debt collector. As such they must follow both Federal and State laws. This company and its employees fail to do that.
They are obligated to follw the FDCPA in collection matters, read up on your rights here and also file a complaint against their company:

I sued them, they did not even bother showing up to either court hearing, I got a 5000 default judgement, but the cowards closed up shop, and changed their name to this PEARLMUTTER and ASSOCIATES. they continue to violate the fair debt collection practices act by sending out fake letters that look like a court document, threatening to seize bank accounts etc and garnish wages.
I sought legal representation, they told me in my state, the only thing that starts the statute over is a payment. I told them I didn't owe them anything, they finally left me alone after I sued them
This is just an illegal tactic used to scare you into paying. The truth is, there are specific statutes for these types of debts usually in most cases the longest I have seen is 6 years. In my state it is 2 years. However, you can sue them because they won't show up, you will get a default judgement, and then you can just ignore them because they can't do a damn thing to you.
