Called this morning and it only rang TWICE! Even if they were legit, c'mon....TWO rings and you expect someone to answer? Crazy. Of course, the call never got to the answering machine for me to make any identification. Based on the comments here, this will be blocked.
2 calls in same night w/in an hour. first call nothing but dead air. called back & "Andrew" wanted to give me a free mortgage evaluation.
When I asked why he was on my phone since we are on the DNC list, he responded he did not call me, my name just popped up on the screen. Supposedly I'm now on their DNC list. We shall see
My husband received a call today from a male caller from Direct Source offering a low mortgage interest rate for Veterans. We are on the DNC list. My annoyed husband then told the caller he was not a veteran and has told them not to call several times before. The caller became rude, my husband then called him an a$$hole and hung up. A few minutes later, the caller called back. He told my husband "You will never call me an a$$hole again. I have your name and know where you live." True, my husband's name calling was inappropriate, but this caller made a threat. We will be contacting someone about this.
I just received a call from this number, I believe the company name is "Direct Source". They are telemarketing company trying to offer you to refinance your home. I preceded to tell them that my home number is on a State and National Do Not Call list and he did not seem to care. In fact, when I told him I am not interested in anything he is trying to sell he told me "Why Not" and began to be pushy so I hung up.
Thought it was a local call when I glanced at the number, but it was not. A female at Direct Source Marketing wanted to give me a "mortgage review" and I told her I was not interested in refinancing. Shen then continued on with her scripted responses, and I had to be rude & hang up after telling her I was not interested in refinancing at this time. I get the whole "sales" approach, but I teach my kids that when someone says no, it's time to stop. Wish these people had been taught that too! Besides the fact that she said "marketing" and I certainly wouldn't refi with a marketing company!
There is something you can do about it. Contact your local and federal legislators. They are the ones that refused to put teeth into the no call list. No organization should be exempt from having to honor your request for no calls. IT is after all YOUR phone. You pay for it. Perhaps we should be allowed to charge a fee for the privilege of contacting us by phone, say a flat $5 charge.
