If they have talked to you, then they are required to do the following by law, but if what the previous poster said is true, this is a criminal organization pretending to be a debt collector. Western New York is loaded with them.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

well I have never had T-mobile and yet I am getting calls relentlessly from RPM debt collections. They call my house and ring my phone twice then hang up. They have called a few times and when I answer then they hang up. They have called on very rare occasions and I answered and they ask for someone who does not live here. I have told them they dont live here. I have called the company and they say that 10 names are attached to my phone number which is an out right lie. I have had this phone number for over 30 yrs and no one else is attached to this phone number. I am being harassed by this company.
