this company called my house looking for someone who is not me (note my phone number is listed under my name. they mentioned something about florida, I live in Ma. and something about a ssn. I find it very strange that this is a person whom i used to now over 5-7 years ago ,I know that at one point, or even still she lives/lived in florida. so now i am freaking out that she stole my ssn. me and my family lived with her briefly about 7-8 years ago with my sister in law (the were a same sex couple. so opportunity my have been there. but theres no way in my mind that this is all coincidence, same name a person i knew, same place i last knew she lived. I called and since i accidently erased the message i had no case no. to give. they transferred me to someones voicemail but i doubt they will help! I don't know what to do.but if they call again for her and harass me like i have had other creditors,etc. do before with the people who previously had this number, and makeing it seem as if i was lying to them and that they would continue to call me that person's name and not leave us alone,then i guess i will file them with the BBB.cause my phone number is listed and in my name which is not anything like her name. it would be very easy for them to find that out through reverse lookup or verizon white pages on line. I'm not sure if i should report a fraud alert to my creditors and credit reporting agencies as i have no problems with my credit and owe nothing outstanding.
Simply call the number back - ask for the person who asked for you and their extension - Every time they open their mouth to say something to you - harrass them right back - don't let them finish their sentence - Keep doing it. They hang up- call them right back. They hang up again - call them again. They will finally get fed up and stop calling you because you just gave them a new name for customer service! Trust me - it works!
My husband's nephew living in Texas received a call from this number harrassing him that they were trying to reach my husband that they were aware of a so called heart issue, and were attempting to serve papers to him, we live in Florida the call was placed to Texas.
