just got a call on my cellphone for my husband-guy says his name is jonathan berry and he has received a request under his name and social security number to sign a document for a claim that an office is looking to file against you. Goes on to say I will be stopping by to get that signature so be sure to be available-you have been notified and are on my schedule so I will be seeing you Monday February 15th; then advises to call the party that issued your notice if you have questions and gives some bogus number and claim number. Obviously a total scammer!!! I mean really-doesn't even identify what company he's with, or what "office" or "party" he is referring to-big red flag!!! Thank you so much to everyone that has left comments regarding this-they were very helpful and kept me calm when I heard this message just now!
Michael Channing keeps calling me said to call 855 977 2055 with the reference number of 499307 about a claim filed but wait my name isn't Marcos and if he's in New York how fast you think he'd get across to the west coast bet you it won't be Wednesday September 23rd! Ha ha ha ha some low life that needs a life
I received a call from Steve Bush (African American accent) saying he would be at my front door with some papers for me to sign for a claim that will be filed against me. And that he would be at my door in two days. OK LOL!!!! This is a scam. Since when does anyone that is going to serve someone started to let them know what day they are going to do it.
Receive calls and tell me they are processing paper work. Do not know what they are talking about. They say to call the issuer. SCAMMERS they also use a call back number of 877 420 5676
same thing with me today called my cell phone over 30 times then call my office , i wasn't nice and explained to not call me again , serve me do whatever, but honestly i don't owe anyone any money or have any debt, so i can't imagine, has anyone had anyone show up?
No one is going to show up. No legitimate process server calls you up in advance and tells you that he or she is coming by. This is just an attempt to try to scare some money out of you.
Another site reported this call as belonging to "Limestone Holdings". Possibly New York group. Known debt collector. History on 800notes. Not sure exactly where they are located.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
