Recorded message mentioned something about calling them in order to prevent them from pursuing filing a law suit in the local court. Called twice, blocked after 1st call. FUNNY!! Caller ID said Unknown and so am I
I just got a call from 7184049289 and the caller kept saying he was Officer Jones from the IRS. First, the IRS doesn't have officers--so I busted the callers bubble and said "Officer Jones, great to talk to you. I'm a GA Peace Officer. Let's talk about the laws that you are in violation of; and, keep talking so that I can get a good recording of you talking." Officer Jones hung up on me.
Got a call from 1-718-404-9289 pretending to be from the IRS. It was obvious he was not, so I ask him if he was ashamed of himself for trying to scam people. Needless to say, he got a little annoyed at me, so after I hung up, he kept calling me back multiple times. The caller ID picked up 5 different names and numbers. All but the original New York number came across as a local number.
