They have called me twice a day for the last three days. Hung up the first few times I answered. A human (woman) asked if someone was available to accept a legal summons for my ex-wife. I told the caller that she is on her own.
Question for other recipients of these calls: have you recently posted something on craigslist for sale, or have you inquired about somebody else's listing? These calls started the day after I inquired about an Audi wagon. I never heard back on the car. I can post the phone number from the ad here to see if it helps the process of locating these dinks.
My expierence with them is very similar to yours. The only difference is I first received a call at my brothers house (left a message on his machine telling me to call regarding a civil matter). When I called back at that time they stated it was for a debt from 2003 and wanted to know why I did not pay it. I gave him my cell number (so they do not continue to call my brothers house) and I advised them to send me something in the mail to which he stated had been sent previously and I never responded. He read my address to me, it was correct. He stated he would send another copy out (its been a month, still have not received). This morning I received a call on my mothers business line from 718-705-0624 from "Rebecca Chase" telling me to call 855-366-5231 with the same case number I was given the first time. I told her I had already spoken to someone and until I received something in the mail I will not be calling them back. She said they do not show an address or any record of that conversation on file and there was nothing she could do, I needed to contact the other number. Aggravated with her, I called the 855 number and spoke with "Rebecca Johnson" (for the record she did sound JUST like the first once, only a little more sure of herself). I repeated all of the above to her and she began to argue with me, cutting me off and flat out called me a liar, that they have never called me before, they only received my file this morning at 8am. That is a load of crap, I remember the name of the company ( R & J Consulting) because I always google numbers I do not know and it was the same key words that caught my attention (civil matter, heading to court, ect) plus I still had the phone number and case number written down from the first time (should have written the guys name down but I must have missed it). I told them to stop calling me at number that are not mine or I would report them for harassment since they have been given valid contact information by me previously. She then hung up on me. Hopefully they will stay aware, although I doubt it.
I actually used to work here, only for a week until I figured out they are running a scam and I wanted no part of it. It's a debt collection call using illegial scare tactics. They try to make it sound like it's 2 different offices but really the people who call you and the number you call back (the 855 number) is all in the same office in California; R&J Consulting. They lie about the dates the account was opened and closed because most of it is from 1980-2003. They will not take you to court but will try and scare you into believing your in legal trouble. Do not answer the calls and definitely do NOT pay these bottom feeders. Everyone who works there is highly uneducated and only make money if YOU pay.

I was able to get in contact with a law firm that posted on here and they feel as though they have a great basis for a lawsuit against R & J Consulting. They are going to be calling me back tomorrow . I hope they do as I'm ready to do my part in stopping people like them . Wish me luck, and I'll keep you updated. Think about joining in on the law suit. I was told I am eligible for some good $$ based on what I told them.
