Got the very same message so I told them I would call my attorney and they said they needed cash today or it would cost alot more so I told them it's a scam and they hung up he such a strong accent I had to really listen to understand him!!! BEWARE!!!!
Got a text message from 815 940 8763 telling me to call 718 880 90057. Saying they received a legal application against my SSN which is going to down load to local county court. I googled the number it is a landline in NY. It is a SCAM. I called back a man with a strong accent said we were being recorded I said good. He wants me to send a money gram and asked how much time I needed. How do this people get away with these. They really need to find real jobs!!! And stop bothering us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a call from them yesterday. I do owe money but I've been talking with the collector and they have differed my payments for now and we've worked out an arrangement. Then I get this call that scares the hell out of me telling me they have all my personal info and they are going to pull a law suit against me if I don't pay up. He gave me options and when I said I couldn't pay the amount at the time he said I could make payments he offered to let me pay the minimum to clear my debt completely which was less than what I owed. This is complete bull.
Glad to read this. I just got the same text word for word. I texted them back and told them that I had reported them to the federal trade commission as a scam.
