Been receiving calls from this group for last 4 days asking for my wife. When I try to take a message they say they will call back, and boy have they. Last Friday every 40 minutes. Today every 20 minutes. I spoke with a "representative" about 10 minutes ago. When I asked to speak with his supervisor he got very defensive and kept asking why I wanted to talk to him. I finally told him that I considered these calls to be harrassment and that I am filing criminal charges against his company with the Nevada and New York Attorney Generals offices (where number is located) and the BBB. I'm just waiting for him to call again!
Okay...so I've been getting up to 20 phone calls a day from a company calling themselves “Direct Merchants". I may not be saying anything new, but here is my experience. There are countless complaints found if you enter this company's phone number in Google. I have tried calling this number in vain to speak to a real person. The most aggravating part is that when you dial, it is a recorded message ("Hi. This is David...") and you have only two options: (1) press 2 to listen to a recorded message or (2) press 1 to disconnect. Finally out of desperation, I listened to the 10-15 min recording and found that they want you to sign up for Visa/MasterCard terminal credit card processing. It is a so-called money-making venture.
After being tortured with their recorded message, I finally was sent through to a real person and asked for them to remove my # from their list. Also asked to speak to their Customer Service Dept and the guy rudely said they don't have one. Then he cut me off in mid-sentence. He was VERY rude and kept asking what my name was. As I said, I am getting up to 20 calls a day on a TracFone that my 12-year-old son uses. The phone number is linked MCI Worldcom as carrier of the land line and to this address in the Bronx, NY: 1492 Morris Ave, Bronx, NY 10457-8907. The sorry b's didn't call me Sunday (imagine that) and my battery actually lasted all day. But when they call, it drains my battery in a matter of hours. I have turned them into the www.DoNotCall.gov registry, but it doesn't sound like others have had much success with this method.
I actually spoke to a few people on the line and listened to a 3 minute recording about merchant services businesses... then they put on someone a george mar... something or another on the line and i asked what i thought were relevant questions and he sounded irritated and an [***] at the least, when he said it would cost 199 to become an authorized affiliate, i asked if that was all fees included and he said that it was around 249 99... really?? around ? then said 25 for this 25 for that, and when i said i didnt have the money now, and asked for his name and number he gave me 866-931-4168 and spelled his name and ended up hanging up when i asked him to repeat.. really?? wow..
