The give-away that this was a robo-call was the extended pause between when I picked up the call and the start of the message. The message was spoken by a "cultured" white male voice, that said "Hello". A comment at another call reporting site indicated that this was a "senior phishing" operation.
This number has turned up some odd companies that seem to have used it, or even are still using it: Primera Clase Taxi of Lowell, MA, and Empire Astoria Electric Co., New York, in Astoria, N.Y. Another check on this number brought up the location Woodside, N.Y. -- no name of a company, though.
Being I do not have VM and the phone ringer is turned off; it flashes on the screen only. I have added this number along with many others to the FCC. I file a had written complaint to the FCC and my ISP and cell phone carrier weekly.
My attorneys, the FCC, ISP and cell phone carrier has paid me a lot of money on the ones they have caught and prosecuted. The only thing I can advise is call the FCC they have paperwork they will send you. Take the time, keep good records and you will get paid. This year alone I have collected enough money to pay 3 months of car payments, my cell phone bill and 2 trips to the casino.
Take the time. Its worth it. Write the FCC get the necessary paperwork. If you don't believe me call the FCC and ask. What do you have to lose.
the "Do Not Call Registry" works well for legit business. Which is one of the reasons that suggests that Clare P is a scam artist. Scams artists are happy to break several laws.
