Ive recieved about 30 calls from that number and its an annoyance. Ive finally decided to call back with the cellphone on silent. A woman answered, almost like she was part of an office.
Patrick Johnston and James Johnston have both called from this number. Same story as others. I'm involved in some financial transaction with my SS # attached. SCAM getting calls from different CO phone numbers same script. It is amazing people are able to get away with this crap.
Got 2 calls in a 10 minute span so decided to call back. First time I called the guy hung up on me immediately
The second time I spoke to Anthony, who must have been new. When I started asking questions he couldn'the answer any of them and said he would explain everything if I let him finish. So I said "So, you have a script you have to follow" to which, he replied "Yeah." Eventually he asked if I was currently on parole, to which I replied "Are you saying this issue violates my parole?" He then transfered me to a "supervisor"
I spoke next to a lady named Anita or Lisa (or something like that). She was a little more polished with the script and claimed that they had mailed me pertinent details and was simply making a courtesy call to follow up. She said I was facing two felony charges and that at this point she was closing her case and I would have to deal with the court.
If you listen closely, it's the same horribly disguised voice using different names. First he was Sherman Jackson, then Ronald Jones, then Patrick Johnston, I guess next he'll be Fred F**king Flinstone! Total scumbag scam artists.
"Hello my name is James Johnson with legal mediation divison 217. I'm showiung this telephone number is associated with the financial transactino that is now in question. If you own this telephone number is it possible that your social security number could be invovled as well I have a couple of questions regarding this legal matter. Please contact me or any of my associates at 720-222-1501. Thank you."
I Googled "legal mediation division 217" and found that this exact script was used by phone number 303-951-4754
They must not be very bright becuase they called within a couple of minutes and left the same exact message twice.
This was not one with the thick accent either so I am hoping people are smart and google and see all of this before they fall for it. I might call them back and see if I can get information on them
