Abraham Nunez keeps calling me and saying i owe money to a ban, he has all my information, but I think its  scam and they threaten to file a lawsuit if i dont pay a certain amount now, im not sure if i should pay or if its a scam ?? Any advice ?? Please

I got a call at my job the other day saying he was from Stanley and associates law firm n left a 877 toll free number n said I needed to contact him within 3hrs it was very important well when I called him back he said I owed a bank money n asked how much I could pay etc then after I gave him my debit card number n told him I got paid in days I felt was legit until I called him this morning and he answered phone by saying hello Ms (my last name). Having a lawyer years ago I know calling them doesn't work like that. So I went to my bank told them bout it n closed n opened new account n thought it weird almost immediately after that Abraham Nunez tried calling me all mad. Its a scam ppk

Standley and associates IS a REAL Law office  supreme court bar # 18427 with the colorado supreme court and if you deadbeats just payed your bills you wouldnt get any calls at all ...  Further ... The BBB of course has a bad rating for them,, they garnish peoples checks ,, you think someone will write a post that says they did that well?  Pay your bills

As far as "garnishing people's checks," that's a more complex situation, and varies by state. It also requires having taken said debtors to court and winning. A collector cannot just "garnish," and cannot claim they can.  A collector is required to first send WRITTEN proof of the debt, not to say "zomg pay this NOW or you'll go to court," either.
