I too got a call from this number. Told me that I owed back taxes, that I needed to show up at an IRS office and said there was a warrant for my arrest. Said that someone would show up in 45 min to arrest me. I have friends who are with the US Attorneys office and they said that they would never arrest in this manner.
I got a call from this number tonight . Telling me I still owed on a payday loan amd if I didn't pay a cop would show up at my work and arrest me. When we asked his name he originally said anthony the changed it to steve morgan. We asked for his address he gave us 116 w 4th st Nashville, Tennessee
It's a scammer. Please do report the caller to the FTC, FBI and your state's Attorney General. Debt is civil, not criminal, so no one is going to be arrested.
Got threatening calls 2 days in a row on my cell & at work!! The guy said his name was James Martin...definitely not!!! When I asked him what company he was with so i could report him he just kept saying he was with an attorney's office & kept asking if I knew that I owed this..when I told him I didn't know what he was talking about he said you owe money & you will need to pay immediately or God help you!! He said he would put his manager on the phone to process my Pymt!! At that point, I told him to never call my cell or work again & hung up! That was 2 days ago, & hopefully I don't get anymore calls.
I recieved a phone call from 714 459 5143 about being subpoenaed to go to court in california which I have never been in . They said if I do not call and give my address to take care of this I would spend 30 days in jail amd have to pay up to $73, 000
This is the second type of call I've received from a person who speaks very spoken English and sounds Indian. Same info given as I'll be arrested and prosecuted if I don't return their call. First number was from New York and now this one. Why isn't this being investigated and shut down?
