I too got a call from this number. Told me that I owed back taxes, that I needed to show up at an IRS office and said there was a warrant for my arrest. Said that someone would show up in 45 min to arrest me. I have friends who are with the US Attorneys office and they said that they would never arrest in this manner.
I received a call from this number today with similar threats. The message was from Steve Martin. I did call back and he was Alan Green from the US Treasury Dept. and I had misfiled my 2010 and 2011 taxes and still owe money and the filings are incomplete. Two agents would be showing up at my house in 20 minutes to arrest me. I said this is a fake call and he said he would prove it, just watch for the agents. No one showed up. They did not ask for a specific amount or ask for any personal information (not that I would give it).
Received a couple of calls from someone with an Indian accent saying he worked for the federal treasury and that I was going to be arrested today for IRS issues. I asked why the caller id was blank & why it sounded like he was on a cell phone outside .
some guy with a heavy Indian accent keeps calling the home phone. Cannot understand a word he is saying, I had to listen to the message 3 times just to get this call back # No caller ID on my home phone. They do mention my Mothers name, and I did hear something about government, investigation. LOL... OK so they are after a 78 year old lady? This sounds like a scam from what I have read here.
