called me sat. morning at 1000 on my cell phone (on the do not call list) was a recording about my credit, blah blah....I hung up. When I called them back it was a recording saying press 1 to be placed on their do not call list
Have had a knee operation! Got my crutches and got to the telephone and answered and no answe from this number stating 732-243-0079. I do not know anyone from there and besides that registered with the do not call list.
I received a call from 732-243-0079 on my mobile phone. It came up only as being from Metuchen, NJ. I answered; no response. I called the number back and got an automated response: "Hello, and thank you for calling. If you'd like to be placed on a no-call list, please press '1' now." Which I did, but I doubt it will do any good. My understanding is that it's still not legal to robo-call cell phones anyway, and of course, they did.
I don't usually answer out-of-area calls, but this one I did. The message was recorded. I did not get a credit card name so I hung up and Googled it. I don't get calls from my credit card companies; I get snail mail or e-mail. But I would NEVER give out this information on ANY incoming call. I don't click on e-mailed links, either.
