Just reccieved a call from this number.at 10 am today, 1/5/16. Didn't leave a message. I don't answer calls unless they leave a message. Caller id was vehicle protect. I get mail from all the warranty companies trying to sell me a vehicle warranty. My vehicle has the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty on it which is 50,000 miles to go. I bought a warranty on a vehicle once and they found a gray area to get out of it, so I don't buy warranties from these types of callers anymore.

I actually took the time today (I was bored) to engage to see if I could string them along.. What I discovered is they are using a very sophisticated computer response system and not live people .
The computer was able to handle most questions, but when tripped up, it repeats the question, giving away that it is a computer (I asked which car they were calling about, I own 4).
When I went off track (asked if she was single and dating), it asked me to keep it professional and when I asked again, the computer apologized or bothering me and hung up LOL
Assume this was some telemarketer since they hung up when I didn't answer. Problem with blocking all these numbers that call is that once you block one number they call from another number. Their technology can generate calls showing area codes from various states. If you do answer and tell them to put you on their Do Not Call List they just hang up and call you from a different number. You can report them, based on their telephone number, but I believe that's a lost cause. I truly believe that to at least start some way of stopping these calls is that once at least one is caught they not only get a very heavy fine, but jail time, and this should be done as each one is caught.
