I have been receiving these calls for over 2 years. They are trying to sell extended warranties on one of my vehicles. These are robocalls and a recording pitching their product. I have tried telling them to put me on their 'do not call' list with no effect, they just keep right on talking. This is what leads me to believe that it is a recording. I also think that they know way too much about me; like my name and phone number, the make, model, and year of the car I bought, the date I bought it, and the dealer I bought it from. It appears to me that either the dealership or the dmv is selling info to these [***]'s. But they don't seem to know about the other 3 vehicles I own. For data gathering purposes I provide the following; vehicle purchased in Palm Springs from Desert Honda in 2013. I noticed that the phone calls are originating from Palm Springs and that this particular car is the only one I own that was purchased in Palm Springs.
Car warranty scam. When I asked them "who are the calling for," they couldn't answer me with the correct information. They offered to put me through to someone else, but I kept insisting that they tell me who they are calling for. She then hung up. Obviously a scam when they don't even know my name,
Another robocall. I've been getting these calls very frequently over my holiday break. Just keep your money from these scumbags; that's all we can do. Eventually appropriate technology will be readily available to hunt these people down.
If they are calling you on your cell phone then what you do is: go into you call log, find the number(s) you don't want ringing your phone and long press each one by one. Once long pressed it should give you a menu with some options like add to contacts, etc. ,but near the bottom it should offer AUTO REJECT. Select that and the call will automatically be rejected before it had a chance to ring your phone. If you have TWC home phone service, I belive you can block unwanted numbers online at your TWC Login under the phone tab. I hope that helps you! :)
