Same as many here, they said I paid my phone on time and they were giving me a 500 minute card. They knew my name and address and my husbands name too. I let the phone call continue just to see how much information on me they actually had, and insisted on them telling me what phone company they worked for. They said they don't work for the phone company, they just send the cards to the people that the phone company chooses.
Then they wanted me to verify my name and if my address was correct and then they started to ask social security number. That's when I hung up. They fired like 20 calls in 5 minutes after that! It was insane, my phone didn't stop ringing!
Called the phone company, they have no idea about this offer of phone cards (they don't even need it because free national calling is already included in all their plans). They couldn't block the number, (there were many numbers, private numbers and one that was like zero-zero-zero-zero), so they suggested I report to the local authorities.
And I did. Called the FTC and the Attorney General. Hope they are stopped.
Please don't give them information. The FTC said that if they are offering free stuff they shouldn't be asking for any kind of information whatsoever. Report them too, so they can catch these scammers!!!
I got a call from this number offering prepaid phone cards, they tried to get my info, I asked again where are they calling from, they said they were calling from Texas (this number belongs to Georgia ) after I said I wasn't interested in those cards the lady call me fckng btch ! And hung up!
Got a call from this number just now....Spanish speaking person on the line...hung up on them as I do with all calls of this nature. They use "burner phones" or "disposal phones" and it's usually a scam~~~~~~. Do not fall for or respond to these calls!!!!!!!
