We got the exact same "John Pierson" call at 2:23 in the morning. According to my mother, this is not the first call she's received. We are on the Do Not Call registry, so I went right to their website and filed a complaint. Their website is www.donotcall.gov. Complaints can also be filed online with the FCC, though I don't have their address handy.
This caller is a Phishing scheme. Today, virtually any caller from any company that you have not already requested to call you is fraudulent. They will ask for your social security number home address, and other identification. NEVER give anyone this information that has called you. Not even your bank will call you and ASK for this information. The only time that you should ever give this information out is if YOU contacted an organization or business you trust.
I suspect that I am preaching to the choir on this as most people that take the time to do a Google search probably already suspect or know this. What I would ask is that EVERYONE that reads this tells everyone they can, verbally, about this. Don't blanket e-mail this tidbit of information out as that just overloads e-mail servers and most people delete these kinds of e-mails anyway.
Stay safe, and Death to Phishers, Spammers, and Hackers!
You, sir, are an idiot. If you leave a voice mail, most people will call back if it is someone that they know. If your friends haven't figured that out yet, maybe you should educate them. I wouldn't do it in writing though, they probably can't read. Put the reefer down, delete the "F" word from your vocabulary (maybe you could get a dictionary and find some more creative words), and maybe take an anger management class.
Come to think of it, I would guess the reason most people don't answer your calls is because they can't stand you.
It really is not some guy selling anything. It is a "Boiler Room" operation collecting personal information. No one really does mass cold calls trying to sell anything legitimate anymore, because no one in their right mind will give out a credit card or other personal information to anyone that calls them. Do not even give this information to your bank if they call you. BANKS never call you and ask for this information. If they did and you gave it to them, call your bank now and change your account numbers and credit cards.
