I've been told by a reliable source that when you push whatever number they say will stop the calls you are ONLY telling them that the number they called is a working phone number. It does not stop the calls.
After weeks of calls from this number, I began answering the phone with a "Don't need your services" statement. The caller then told me they weren't selling anyting, but needed to give me some very sad news, and proceeded to tell me that my husband was in serious trouble and was at that moment in jail and headed for worse. When I laughed she hung up, but the calls have not stopped.
This number and several others keep calling my elderly mother. This is elderly abuse and financial abuse. Would like to know who to contact as these calls are made from out of the US and there is absolutely nothing the local phone companies can do to stop them. These calls can not be blocked from your phone because your phone company can not block an outside the US call. It's considered an international call. They can call people at all hours of the day/night, but when we call them we get charged an international rate???? They has to be a loop hole somewhere to stop these people!!!
