man or woman's voice saying hello
followed by another call with all 000000's in number
when answer get recording its invalid number,
and can't call back either.
Got a call from this number yesterday. The caller ID showed no name, just a number: V10104455400011. I read somewhere that the V means this is an autodialer program used by telemarketers. It is also used by scammers to spoof calls (they use some sort of program where they can make their caller ID show any number they put in, so this might be why a lot of these spam calls show your local area code on the number ID). I answered the call and some man with a very strong Asian/Indian accent said his name was ***** and he was calling from the US Medical Center. He went on and on about how some company Is bringing a lawsuit against some other company regarding failed surgeries, saying there would be a "significant amount" settled on the people involved in the lawsuit. Then he asked if anyone in my family had this type of surgery (I never did manage to understand what kind of surgery he was describing). I was going to string this guy along and have some fun with him, but then I thought of all the people, mostly the elderly and disabled, that have possibly lost money or identities to this fool, and I said that I knew he was not calling from any medical center, that I knew just what he was doing, and to take my number off all call lists. I told him that with the HIPPA laws in place, no way was he getting any information about my health or anyone else's. He just kept right on speaking like I was not even saying anything!! This made me even more angry and I ended up screaming into the phone at him, saying that scammers like him make me sick and to not EVER call my home again. I HATE these scammers, and the Do Not Call list is absolutely useless. I have registered my numbers on that list every year since they started it, and it has never cut down on any of these damn calls. Another waste of government money in my opinion.
I got a call at 9:20 am central on 11/3 from 781-018-1172. What kind of exchange is 018? does that even exsist? anyway it was a robot that said something like "Currently there is only 1 person on this conference call" .
