A person with an Indian accent called saying that he represented Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas and was calling
to talk about a recall of prescription medications. Did not continue the conversation.
I got several calls that I did not answer and since the caller never left a message, I concluded it could not be important so I blocked the number...still get the calls...I just ignore them. Apparently, the inventors of these technologies are no smarter than the scammers who hack them Spirit help us ALL.
I totally agree with you Mary, about the Do not call list. This list is only for businesses not scammers. I got a call 2-26-15, from 1-718-018-1172. Caller ID showed Mass. The caller said Hi, I am calling from Austin Texas Medical Center. He began to inform me about recalled drugs and if anyone in my house was on a diabetes med. I told him no one had diabetes and he began to mention other drugs. Since he had a strong Indian accent I told him I could not understand him and that how could he be from Texas and the ID show Mass, I told him not to call here again and hung up on him. I wish there was a way to catch these people.
Just log on to your voice mail provider's site and block the number. The fewer prospect lists your number appears on, the less telescammers it will proliferate to. This is a faked caller ID.
