I just got the same call from Steve Smith and then a few min. Later, Barry Cooper ( badge number 19960) from Florida called and left a message. I called him back and same thing. From IRS and investigation against me and I can take care of $2561.00 now or I will get thrown in jail. I Am soon sick of these pucks. I really hope hey get caught!
I just received the same call this morning. They said they were going to arrest me within about 1-2 hours and take me to court for due to some mistakes on my taxes..?
I called back, mainly to vent because the IRS doesn't do this.. I was trying to get the address they are calling from. After pressing really hard, he said "I'll have someone at your door within the hour to take care of you". It's quite funny that they can't handle trolling. I called them back 8 times, telling them I'm reporting them. Which I did to the IRS.gov website form as well as TIGTA (https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam_ok.shtml).
If you don't trust the link -go to IRS website and it will have an area to report phishing and it will as you to report to TIGTA as well. Good luck all, if we all keep calling them and keeping them busy... maybe the people calling will quit. Troll the trollers!
