I just got the same call, and was told the same thing word for word. I also called the FBI after looking them up on-line and was also told the same as you. Wish there was some way we could stop people like this. They need to be locked up themselves. The person I talked to got mad when I would not offer to pay the loan back, and when I would ask for more information about my case that he supposedly had on me he would not give me anything to prove that he was looking for me. So big scam, to bad that they do end up getting a way with it most of the time.
same thing only i recorded the call after they heard the beep they hung up and the line was dead tried to call back got a call Que message that i was the only caller in the conference at this time reported it to the police and FBI
I have received 3 calls already this morning from these scammers... I told them they call me one more time the FBI would have them... the guy on the phone told me I needed to speak clearly so he could understand me and I tolkd him if he spoke English he would be able to understand what I said.. I told him that I kinow you are scammers and FBI is on your case that I never took out a payday loan and you need to get a real living not scam people...I am not fool enough to send you money.... try to find you another sucker... sure the state of South Carolina got their personal information stolen from State Income Tax information so I think this is the fools that did it and took the IDs. Tired of their BS and Calling.
I took out a payday loan for a little extra Holiday Cash. Next thing I know, I was receiving a call stating that they were from IC3 and that I had performed internet fraud. When I asked them why and how they simply said that it was fram a payday loan. When I called the actual payday loan they had no clue to what I was speaking of. I have called the FBI and the FCC which both industries told me that this is a scam. I inturn went on FCC's website and have made a complaint. See I don't do well with the police and do not wish to see or talk to them if I have no need to do so. I was scared shtless but, I had to ask myself FRAUD no that's not me. I hope the idiots get caught and stoppes.
This guy wanted me to pay Their company the money I owed. He wanted me to rush down to my local cvs or western union to send him money. He called himself the supervisor( Leaf Hanson) . He said pay or you will be arrested tomorrow morning and to wait for them to arrive. So I googled his number and here I am writing about this scammer. I called him back and got answering machine and asked for all his info and actual location and badge number. So I guess I will wait and see if he will call me back with all this info
I got the same call, person with foreign accent, IC3, saying the police would be at my house with a warrant. I have gotten these calls b4 from another company and almost got taken in. If they were legitimate, there are a whole bunch of things they have to say "this is an attempt to collect a debt" etc. Also, they cannot threaten you like this. it's best to report the number as a scam to BBB etc.
