I just got the same call, and was told the same thing word for word. I also called the FBI after looking them up on-line and was also told the same as you. Wish there was some way we could stop people like this. They need to be locked up themselves. The person I talked to got mad when I would not offer to pay the loan back, and when I would ask for more information about my case that he supposedly had on me he would not give me anything to prove that he was looking for me. So big scam, to bad that they do end up getting a way with it most of the time.
I just got this call tonight. He said the same thing that he was from IC3. He told me that l had a payday loan that l didnt make payments on. The scary part he said that the police was gonna be at my house tomorrow at 10:00am and take me in, cause they have warrent for me. he ask me if l have a cvs close by. I got scared so l did what he said. After l came back home and l was thinking that it was kinda odd so l looked up the phone, and l see that l've been scam. I'm gonna go to the police tomorrow and report this.
I just got one of those calls from these people saying that there was a warrant issued for me because I had taken out a payday loan last year. I told him that I had not taken out a loan last year and he started yelling at me. I started yelling back and told him that this was a scam and he just hung up on me.
The first one that called me I hung up on and the little u-no-what called me back and chewed me out for hanging up on him.
This number has call 5+ times over the last 2 days and left 3 messages each message at least 2 mins long. The messages were all from someone stating they were from Internet Crime Complaint Center (I think) it was very hard to understand due to their accent not being from this country and poor english. What I could make out was that my name, address, and SS # were under investigation and if I didnt return their call within a few hours I would need to contact my retained attorney, BUT if I did call them back they would be in a position to help me out! The messages are very long and I cant make out but half of what they say! I keep blocking the numbers but they just call back from a different number. At the end of every message they always say God Bless you or Have a Blessed Day (at least I think thats what they say) Im sure its a scam I've never recieved anything in the mail stating anything they have said. This also happened before to me about 1.5 years ago they finally stopped then but are back at it again!!
The freaks are criminals themselves. A blind man can distinguish them from a legit organization. Even if they spoke perfect English they'd stink more than the sewage that flows below them.
I recieved 6 calls in a matter of 3 hours from these idiots. I didn't answer until the 4th call. They left a message on the 3rd call and wouldn't identify themselves just that I needed to call them back due to an urgent legal matter. Of course I did not call back. Less than a half hour later they called for the 4th time. I answered and the person with a very thick Indian accent told me they were calling from IC3 or internet crimes complaint center. When I asked what this was in reference to, all he said was that he could not answer my question and that I needed to call another number. I told him I would NOT call another number and if he did not have the information I asked for then he should not call back again. He promptly said he would not be calling back and hung up the phone. 15 minutes later I received another call from the same number, this time when I asked what it was about he put me on "hold" someone else picked up the phone and identified himself as Michael which of course I know was false as he also had a very thick Indian accent. He claimed they were calling about an internet loan from Cash USA payday and that I had defaulted on my payments. Of course I proceeded to explain that I filed bankruptcy in April and even if I had taken out an internet loan, which of course I never had, it would have been handled during that proceeding. He rambled on again and I asked him to slow down and speak clearly as I could not understand what he was saying. Then I gave him the name and number of my bankruptcy lawyer and told him to call their office and deal with it. At which point he hung up on me. An hour later they called back two more times, which I did not answer nor did they leave a message. I have gotten similar calls from a scam like this in years past. Last year they even called my ex-husband looking for me. I'm not sure how they even got our names and numbers together as after the separation we both have new numbers not even with the same cellular company.
