So reading these past post from 2015. Think these guys are at it again. Just got a call and told me my computer had viruses. That I could just go to my computer and long in and he walk me through the steps to clean it..... No way..... I told him. This is a SCAM! Please do not fall for it. Heavy accent maybe from India but no one will know you have a virus from anywhere.
Watch out for this scam. When you say yes, the next thing you know is they use that recording to say you said yes to an order, contribution or who know what. Don't answer these calls you can't identify. If it's someone important they'll leave you a message.
Caller told us that he was a support engineer (must be new, he left out the 'Microsoft') and that our computer was having software problems. Our response was, OH NO! Really? He, heavy accent, broken English, thought we were serious and said, yes, so I need you to go over to your computer where the wires are...We couldn't handle it and said, this is crazy, of course we're not doing that, and then said to take us off their calling list. He sputtered a couple incomprehensible (to us) things, then hung up.
