Received yet another call from the scam artists who call themselves "Credit Card Account Services" and other fake, generic names. The robo-call implies that the call is from your credit card company but, of course, it isn't. Opting out doesn't work with these idiots because they're not on the level. If you want proof of that, try getting a real company name out of them, an address, or a valid call-back number. They'll bluff at first and then hang up on you. A legitimate company would not be afraid to give you that information. I pressed 9 to talk to one of the idiots. (Or maybe there's just one idiot there. The recording is always a woman's voice but it's always a man who answers.) After a brief conversation, I told the guy that I had one thing to say to him... then I blew my emergency whistle into the receiver as loudly as I could. Will they call back again? Sure they will. Maybe they're hoping I'll go brain-dead in the meantime and will fall for their scam. When they call again, I'll blow the whistle in their ear again or will pester them with questions about their so-called "company" just so they'll hang up on me. Either way, I'm not stupid enough to give them my credit card number, which is what they're phishing for.
