Same thing just happened to me! He texted me (got my number off Care.com) and asked for my email and he hadn't said enough for me to think he was fake, so I gave him my email. I knew it was fake the minute I got it but here's my thing...he has to have a registered account with Care.com to see my number. It's not Care.com's fault I gave my email, but it is their fault that he could get my number. I got two other bogus offers via text, too!

In the last week I have recieved the exact emails. I am signed up with Care.com but my numbers not on the site. I don't have a clue how he got my number but then he asked for my email. I told my older sister (who I am living with) as well as my aunt and my aunt googled his name and found it was a scam.

Concerned teacher
I received a text message from 347-541-8375 (Michael Buckner) saying:
Hello, I need a babysitter for my child, if you are available and interested in working for me. Kindly get back to me with your availability.

I replied, and then he replied asking:
What is your email address so I can give you more details or you email me at [email protected].

I did sent him my email, then he sent a long email saying:
he was looking for a babysitter for his 4yrs old daughter Ashley from January thru March. Stating they will be stay at a hotel close to me. He asked personal questions such as are you married, how old are you? Any criminal records? Valid driver's license? Charges per hour? Availability? Special attitude?

I replied to his email answering most of his questions. The he replied saying:
That they were coming to the state and staying in a hotel, that his wife Gracila was sick bed with breast cancer and she will be staying behind for this reason needs a nanny for his daughter Ashley. He established that he was Christian. That he want to send the money for Ashley care along her favorite toys and car seat. In order for him to do so he needs my full name, address, city, state, postal and phone number. He even sent supposedly some pics of his family.

All sounded kind of shady so I googled his phone number and name and found other cases like mine.

Please, don't even bother to respond to this scam all started with a general text message. Always search for more info.

Yep classic fake employment scam.  He will send you a check and want you to take money and pay someone else by untraceable means such as Western union.  You will end up being out the money and the bank fees.  If you do get a check from him in the mail, take it and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.
