was talking to a girl off the internet on Tues. Night. She said she was 20 on the site I was on, then told me she was 16, going to turn 17 in a week. I thought it was fine (I sincerly thought the Age of Consent applied here, Inow realize that it obviously doesn't, I realize that ignorance is no excuse but I'm just explaining my position) then she started getting very sexual, out of the blue, and like an idiot I asked for pics, I sent one to her, then felt guilty and tried to block. it didn't work, I kept replying for 2 days, trying to tell her that I didn't wanna do this. She never would leave, I tried to get her to call and she did, but it went straight to VM and the VM's she sent were all not understandable, so I never even spoke to her. The last thing she said was she was gonna OD on pills and her father would find out and put me in prison, I told her don't do that and I'll stay. She wanted me to buy her a 1st class plane ticket, I said I lost my money and she said I play too many games and quit texting me.
Friday morning, her "father" calls and its an middle aged country sounding black guy (the girl sent pics of a 20 something white woman) who was coming to me man to man to try and make this right, which I was totally gonna do, he wanted me to send $1000 through Western Union by 7 friday night just to pay for the girls therapy. Then my mother got involved and now we're waiting on the hospital bill and if that's legit, I'll see what I can do moneywise, but until then I'm just gonna wait.
So, Is this a scam? It feels like it is too good to be true and that I'm gonna be arrested at any time but I've also seen this all over the internet as a scam/extortion. (meet an appropriate aged girl, she changes her age, nudes are exchanged, you never actually speak, then you speak to her father and Western Union comes up.) I know if I was a father, I would've been more angry than this guy. He just seemed more pissed that his money was missing, from taking off from work and that he didn't wanna ruin my life, but his wife did. I'm just very scared this is legit, and I don't know what to do.

Yes it's an extortion scam.
There is no girl, there is no dad, there is no police.
You actually have the power here, take all info to your local police and file charges.
This has been reported here many times under different phone numbers, almost all out is South Carolina. Google it and you'll see for yourself. I think we may even have a forum thread about it, look to your right or use the search box. Read up, knowledge is power.
Do not communicate with these people ant more! Definitely do not send any money, they are low life scammers.
I'm sure you have learned a valuable lesson about Internet behavior. Give your mom a hug, as a mother of two sons myself, the last thing we want to know about is our children's sexual behavior
Yes it is an extortion scam being run on or by that site. There are numerous number threads here with the same story. Make a police report to your local PD.
Okay, so the guy just called my mother again, and she lied and said that I was in the looney bin after trying to kill MYSELF. I didn't speak to him, but he volunteered to help with MY medical bills. Then at the end of the convo, he hung up on my mother after she asked for the medical bill. He said he was gonna send the hospital bill right after he got off my phone or in a few minutes, but he still hasn't manufacturered one.
