was talking to a girl off the internet on Tues. Night. She said she was 20 on the site I was on, then told me she was 16, going to turn 17 in a week. I thought it was fine (I sincerly thought the Age of Consent applied here, Inow realize that it obviously doesn't, I realize that ignorance is no excuse but I'm just explaining my position) then she started getting very sexual, out of the blue, and like an idiot I asked for pics, I sent one to her, then felt guilty and tried to block. it didn't work, I kept replying for 2 days, trying to tell her that I didn't wanna do this. She never would leave, I tried to get her to call and she did, but it went straight to VM and the VM's she sent were all not understandable, so I never even spoke to her. The last thing she said was she was gonna OD on pills and her father would find out and put me in prison, I told her don't do that and I'll stay. She wanted me to buy her a 1st class plane ticket, I said I lost my money and she said I play too many games and quit texting me.
Friday morning, her "father" calls and its an middle aged country sounding black guy (the girl sent pics of a 20 something white woman) who was coming to me man to man to try and make this right, which I was totally gonna do, he wanted me to send $1000 through Western Union by 7 friday night just to pay for the girls therapy. Then my mother got involved and now we're waiting on the hospital bill and if that's legit, I'll see what I can do moneywise, but until then I'm just gonna wait.
So, Is this a scam? It feels like it is too good to be true and that I'm gonna be arrested at any time but I've also seen this all over the internet as a scam/extortion. (meet an appropriate aged girl, she changes her age, nudes are exchanged, you never actually speak, then you speak to her father and Western Union comes up.) I know if I was a father, I would've been more angry than this guy. He just seemed more pissed that his money was missing, from taking off from work and that he didn't wanna ruin my life, but his wife did. I'm just very scared this is legit, and I don't know what to do.
Girl sent me a message on an internet site asked for my number. So i did it and it was a nice little conversation at first but then it started gettin sexual and so we sent each other 1 picture now her "dad" is trying to get me to send him 2600 for medical bills because his daughter pushed her mom and put her babies life on the line. And he keeps threating me with turning in the authorities and all that. Is this fake a scam or legitly real
It's a scam. Did you read the other entries? This is an ongoing underaged girl scam. Pretty common. There are no underaged girls involved. The people involved are adults and are engaged in extortion attempts. They've called thousands of victims with this scam. There are several threads on 800notes.
In any event, you are the victim of an attempted extortion. Attempted extortion is a felony. Go to police and make a complaint of attempted extortion. Do not talke to these callers. If they call you tell them that you've gone to police and made the report. Have the file number and the name of the police agency you contacted. Do NOT pay them any money. Block and ignore the calls. The scammers tend to use 803 and 843 area codes. But may use others.
Underaged girl scam numbers. Appears to be centered on the Eastern Seaboard somewhere. I think it is the same party or parties doing this. I suspect that they actually work in the telemarketing industry in some capacity or another.
The extortionists work from dating sites.
MO goes like this:
Someone contacts you saying they are the “father” of and underaged girl you contacted. They say they will go to police unless you pay them money by untraceable means.
In some cases they spoof real police detectives and real police departments. Say there is an investigation ongoing by that they’ll they will stop the investigation if you pay them or the complainant party a certain amount of money. Again by untraceable means.
Anyone contacted by these extortionists should immediately block the number and make a police report of attempted extortion. This crime is a felony in most jurisdictions. As is outright extortion. You can check the below numbers on 800notes.
